I have once again joined Team Diabetes, a team of people from across Canada who will be crossing the finish line together and who have raised funds to support the more than 2 million Canadians living with diabetes. I will be on the course of the Bluenose Marathon 10K in Halifax, NS on 23 May 2010.
It takes dedication to be part of Team Diabetes, but I am committed to making a big difference in my life, and in the fight against type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
One of the greatest contributions of the Canadian Diabetes Association is toward outstanding Canadian research. But that is not all the Association does - it runs camps for young people with diabetes and provides education and special services to people affected by diabetes in communities across Canada.
Please help me to support people like my sister, Dana, who was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic 3 years ago (at the age of 30) and suffers numerous health complications due to Diabetes.
As I walk/run the course, you will be with me in spirit and your support will help me be strong all the way to the finish line. A donation for each kilometre is suggested, but whatever you can contribute matters - it all adds up!

Thank you so much for your generosity!
Welcome!
Welcome to Trish's blog page Tri4Wellness! Thank you for your interest in my journey. I am dedicated to my campaign for Team Diabetes, raising funds (once again) for the Canadian Diabetes Association, participating in the Bluenose 10K, on May 23, 2010!
Please take some time to learn about my sister's story - she's the reason I have embarked on this tremendous journey. :) I will also share a bit of my story too. I hope you feel compelled to support us and this worthy cause!
Why "Tri 4 Wellness"? When anyone asks me why I run, my response is always: "for me, for wellness, for overall well being." After I started running three years ago, I decided if I could get back a fitter lifestyle, then why not go for it all! I used to run, cycle and swim regularly. I never did triathlon though. However, I'm a little more goal-oriented than I once was though, so triathlon it is! Running, cycling, swimming, walking and yoga are my regular activities for wellness. The races are a fun way to join up with other like-minded nuts. ;)
